Retail installment contracts:
A retail installment contract has a down payment of $50. A representative example of payment terms is as follows: a $50 down payment, an amount financed of $1,000 with an Annual Percentage Rate (APR) of 144.59%, and a term of 12 months would have 25 bi-weekly payments of $72.82 and 1 bi-weekly payment of $72.26. The total amount repayable would be $1,892.76 with full, timely payments over 12 months. Representative APR is based on the amount financed, individual creditworthiness, and other factors. Leases:
A lease, lease-to-own or rent-to-own program, or rental-purchase agreement has a processing fee or initial rent payment due upon execution of the lease of $50 plus tax. The Total Cost of Ownership must be paid in order to obtain ownership. Acquiring ownership by leasing costs more than the retailer’s cash price. The total number of lease payments necessary to obtain ownership of the property ranges from 1 to 104 payments, depending on your agreement and payment frequency. The timing of scheduled payments may be weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly depending on when you are paid.
